Christmas - Natale

I prepared early this year by making traditional Italian desserts for Christmas. I figured, since no one is coming to visit we need to come up with our own traditions. Christmas was on a Sunday so we went to church and then came back to open presents. We had Andrea, Melissa and Kylee come and eat with us....too bad I didn't take pictures but of course it was an Italian meal. I think the kids loved what they got. I love the holidays and making our own traditions.

Dato che siamo soli per Natale, mi sono preparata in anticipo ed ho fatto i dolci del sud che ricordo mangiare a casa della nonna a Salerno e dagli zii. Ho fatto, gli strufoli, i mostaccioli, ed il torrone. Purtroppo il torrone era troppo morbido, dovro' cambiare ricetta il prossimo anno. Quest'anno Natale e' di domenica quindi siamo stati in chiesa e poi tornati a casa ad aprire i regali. A cena sono venuti Andrea, Melissa e Kylee. Peccato non ho fatto foto, ma ci siamo divertiti a giocare a carte. Il pasto di Natale e' stato a base di cucina italiana. Dato che e' da 4 anni che siamo qui e le feste le passiamo soli, ultimamente mi piace molto cercare di cominciare le nostre tradizioni.

There is little to explain about these pictures...it's cold and covered in snow. Best way to survive it is to stay indoors. I love this place even like this.

AZ trip

We left the weekend before thanksgiving to head down to AZ. We had a baby blessing on Sunday for Leila and Chris's baby, Anna. We had thanksgiving with Ismar's family and a couple of days later we attended Abraham and Rosie's wedding. We tried to spend a lot of time with family and friends, we got to see a lot of people, we drove around a lot and it was worth it.The last Sunday we had another baby blessing for Luis and Jessica's baby boy Jaxson, We left Monday morning to go back to our beloved Rexburg. We had to make the trip in 2 days because the weather was really bad when we got South of Salt Lake City. Luckly the Kobers where kind enough to give us a place to stay for the night. It was also really nice visit with them.

Il fine settimana prima di Thanksgiving siamo partiti per andare in Arizona. La prima domenica abbiamo assistito alla benedizione della bambina di Leila e Chris, Anna. Abbiamo passato Thanksgiving con la familgia di Ismar, ed un paio di giorni dopo siamo stati al matrimonio di Abraham e Rosie. Abbiamo visto molti amici e famiglia. La seconda domenica siamo stati alla benedizione del bambino di Luis e Jessica, Jaxson. Siamo ripartiti per l'Idaho lunedi' mattina per tornare alla nostra beneamata Rexburg. Abbiamo fatto il viaggio in 2 giorni perche' prima di arrivare a Salt Lake era brutto tempo, quindi ci siamo fermati a dormire a casa della famiglia Kober, e' stato bello anche vederli.
