Questa mattina ho sentito i bambini in cucina pero' ho deciso di non alzarmi, dopo una ventina di minuti sono venuti a svegliarmi loro.  Mi hanno portato in cucina ed ho trovato questo spettacolo sul tavolo.  Colazione parecchio sostanziosa, ed un bigliettino con scritto "Siamo dispiaciuti" davanti e dentro diceva: "Cara Mamma, siamo veramente dispiaciuti.  Ti vogliamo bene anche se ci urli, non pretendiamo che to sia perfetta come noi.  Ti vogliamo bene, Italia, Emma, Stefano e Luca."  Caspita, non posso altro che farmi una bella risata.
This morning I heared the kids in the kitchen, soon after they came and woke me up.  They took me to the kitchen table to find a special breakfast for me with a card that read " Sorry" on the outside.  On the inside the message said " Dear mama, we are very sorry.  We still love you even if you yell at us, we don't expect you to be perfect like us.  Love, Italia, Emma, Stefano and Luca"  All I could do is laugh.  How thoughfull.

Halloween 2010

Per Halloween, io ed Ismar siamo andati a una feste che hanno fatto a casa della preside della sua scuola.  Lui era Doctor Seymor Butts proctologo (notate il marrone sui bracci)  ed io ero sua moglie Allota Butts.
Traducendo lui era il dottore "Vedi Culi" ed io sua moglie "Molto culo".  Il brutto di questa festa e' che la preside e sua figlia pensavano davvero che io avessi un sedere cosi' enorme.

All I have to say is he was Dr. Seymor Butts from the Dairy Air Medical Center and I was his wife Allota Butts.  The party was thrown by the school principal and her and her daughter thought that was my real butt.  I was hurt.

 Questa e' stata davvero la cavolata dell'anno.  Abbiamo comprato questa tartaruga senza informarci prima sulla razza.  Dopo averla comprata abbiamo scoperto che e' la 3rza tartaruga piu' grande del mondo, diventera' piu' grande del cane e vivra' piu' a lungo di tutti noi.  Adesso e' piccola perche' ha solo pochi mesi ma in 15-20 anni diventera' una bestia.  Nonostante questo abbiamo deciso di prenderci le nostre responsabilita', aggiungerla al testamento e passarla ai nostri figli, nipoti, pronipoti e cosi' via.

This was the dummest thing we did all year.  We bought this tortoise without doing our homework first.  We later found out that it is the 3rd largest tortoise in the world, it will get bigger then our dog and it will out live us all. It was born September of 2010, so it it still small but in 15 to 20 years it will reach full growth.  After all we have decided to take our responsability and keep it.  We will add it to our will and it will be passed on to the future generation.

 Allora un paio di anni fa, Ismar decise di costruire delle cosine per Natale e di non comprare tante cose inutili, ma di costruire cose che ci servivano lo stesso.  L'idea era di fare delle mensole per la stanza delle  bambine, e mentre aveva le mensole in costruzione aveva deciso di provare a farmi pure un tavolo, dato che ne volevo uno piu' grande.  Vi ricordo che mio marito Ismar non ha mai lavorato il legno in vita sua.  Soprendo che Ismar aveva questo talento, piano piano lo stiamo sfruttando.  Queste sono le poche cose che ha fabbricato da quando abbiamo scoperto il falegname in se.

A couple of years ago for Christmas, Ismar and I had decided to make our children's gifts things they needed.  So Ismar decided to make shelves for the girl's room, while he was at it he also decided to make an 8 men table since I always wanted one.  Let me remind you that Ismar had no plans for any of the projects you are about to see, he had only a picture on some of them.  Since we have discovered this great talent he has found the carpenter in him. Ismar has made and is planning on making many new things.

Molto furbamente per risparmiare tempo e soldi abbiamo usato le stesse "zampe" del tavolo vecchio e abbinate a quello nuovo.

To save time and money we used the old table legs for the new table, nice what a little paint can do.

Questo e' il letto di Luca, non ancora finito dato che deve costruire i cassetti e metterci la iniziale

 This is Luca's bed, not completed yet, the drawers are missing, they will be made....who knows when.

 Il letto di Stefano e' stato il primo che ha costruito Ismar, come vedete non ci sono cassetti, ma eventualmente li fara'.
Stefano's bed was the 1st one to be made, that's why there is no place for drawers, but the bed can always be altered.

 Queste mensole sono state fatte come regalo di Natale alle bambine lo stesso anno che ha fatto il tavolo.

12th Anniversary. 12esimo aniversario

 Non ci posso credere sono passati gia' 12 anni con 4 bambini.  Il tempo vola, e quando si sta' bene insieme va ancora piu' veloce.  Come tutti gli aniversari siamo andati a cena fuori in un posto che si chiama Charleston.  Con tutto il casino quotidiano bisogna trovare il tempo per noi due altrimenti si va davvero nei matti. Il quadro dietro di noi mi e' stato regalato da un amico italiano che abita anche lui qui.  Il quadro dice questo: "Come grow old with me the best is yet to be"  il che vuol dire "Vieni a vivere la tua vita (ovvero invecchiare) con me il meglio e' ancora a venire".

I can't believe it's been 12 years and 4 kids later here we are.  Time flys, especially when you are the ones that matter most.  As usual we went out for dinner, this year we picked Charleston.  We try to make time for each other especially in the last few months with school and work.  I love the meaning of that picture.

At least the make up makes him look like he has a black eye.  Per fortuna il trucco gli da l'apparenza d'avere un occhio nero.

Luca's birthday

 For Luca's birthday we celebrated with Nutella cake at the Hayes'.
Per il compleanno di Luca ho fatto un dolce alla Nutella e siamo andati a casa dei nostri amici gli Hayes.
Quella stessa mattina Luca ha aperto i suoi tanti regali.

 Luca appena vede che sono in cucina vuole aiutare, soprattutto quando metto in funzione il Bosch, come vedete e' attrezzato di grembiule e cucchiaio.  Fa piu' pasticci che aiutare, ma mi piace averlo accanto a me anche se mi impiccia.

As soon as he hears the Bosch, Luca has to get on the counter and help.  I love having him close to me eventhough he causes more messes then anything.

Cousin Frankie



Frankie leaves in Vermont, he came to visit the family for the summer.  The kids love him, especially Stefano as you all can see in the pictures, we wish he leaved closer to us.

Tutti i giorni ci vogliono 20 minuti ad andare e a tornare per portare Stefano a scuola, quindi devo svegliare i bambini alle 6:30 per partire da casa alle 7:30 ed essere a scuola un po' prima delle 8.

Stefano e' contentissimo di andare a scuola ed imparare a leggere e scrivere.

Everyday it takes me 20 minutes to and from Stefano's school.  Therefore we wake up at 6:30 a.m. so we can leave the house by 7:30 and attempts to be at the school before 8.  Stefano is super excited to be going to school, have friends and learn how to read and write.
