20 years - 20 anni

We have been married for 20 years!  In these 20 years we have produced 5 children moved 11 times and been in 3 different states.  Ismar is the only person that could keep me in the United States, he is the best thing that has happened to me since I moved here.  We have had many hard years but we are still together.  For this occasion we went away for the night.  It was so nice to have dinner without interruptions or fighting, watch TV, talk to each other without interruptions and so one. It was needed.  As we approached the house in the morning we were afraid to see what we would find inside...but the kids had surprised us with a spotless house.  They said it was their present to us.  It was so nice to go into a clean house and still be able to relax.

Plus this made us feel like we are raising them right.

Sono passati 20 anni da quando ci siamo sposati.  In questi 20 anni abbbimo creato 5 figli, ci siamo trasferiti 11 volte, ed in 3 stati diversi. Ismar e' l'unica persona che mi poteva "tenere" qui negli stati uniti, altrimenti sarei tornata in Italia, ed e' stata la cosa piu' bella che mi sia successa da quando sono venuta a vivere qui.  Ammetto che abbiamo avuto degli anni duri, ma siamo ancora insieme.  Abbiamo passato una serata fuori casa e siamo stati in un hotel, abbiamo parlato e cenato senza interruzioni, guardato programmi televisivi che volevamo noi, e ci siamo alzati a che ora ci pareva.  Prima di entrare in casa avevamo paura di vedere cosa ci aspettava dentro ed invece i bambini ci hanno sorpreso con una casa pulitissima.  Hanno detto che era il loro regalo per il nostro anniversario.  In questi momenti ci rendiamo conto che non siamo cosi' male come genitori e che nonostante tutto i bambini stanno imparando.

Per ringraziarli li abbiamo portati fuori a pranzo.

Clinicals

This is me at 4:50 in the morning before my second day of clinicals at the nursing home.....scarred to know what today will bring.   Yesterday was pretty shocking....made me think twice about becoming a nurse.  The weirdest thing I experienced was smell flash backs when I was at home.  It was disturbing.  Oh well....Day 2 of clinicals here I come.

Eccomi alle 4:50 del mattino prima di andare a fare lo stage nella casa riposo....avendo paura di quello che vedro' oggi.  Ieri e' stato un giorno scioccante, che mi ha fatto ripensare al fatto che voglio diventare infermiera.  La cosa strana e' che ieri ho avuto i flashback dei puzzi che ho sentito durante lo stage dopo che sono tornata a casa mi sono sentita davvero tormentata.  Secondo giorno sto arrivando....

Stefano 13

This boy has gone through 3 different pant sizes and shoes in the last year, he is about to surpass me in height... so sad to see him grow and change so quickly but happy to know he is a good boy and doesn't cause any trouble.  He loves doughnuts, today not only we celebrate him but his cousin Helaman is entering the MTC, so we went and spent lunch with him before he was dropped off. We then went to the lego store because we were close by.  For dinner we had his favorite, baked pasta and chocolate bean cake.  This birthday was celebrated again before I had to go train to wipe butts...I mean to become a CNA.

In un anno questo bambino e' cresciuto di 3 taglie, sia in pantaloni che in scarpe.  E' triste vederlo crescere cosi' velocemente ma bello vedere che e' un ragazzino bravo, e giudizioso.  Oggi e' un giorno speciale perche' suo cugino Helaman entra nell'MTC prima di andare in missione in Ecuador, quindi siamo andati a pranzare con lui.  Prima di tornare a casa siamo ci siamo fermati al negozio di Lego che era li vicino.  Per cena Stefano ha richiesto la pasta al forno con la besciamella e poi il dolce al cioccolato fatto con i fagioli neri.  Il tutto e' stato fatto prima di andare alla mia classe per diventare assistente infermiera dove ti insegnano a pulire la .... vabbe' lasciamo stare.

Soprattutto qui negli Stati Uniti la maggior parte delle persone sono fissate con le macchine grandi, noi invece siamo fissati con con le macchine piccole.
Abbiamo comprato questa macchina per dei motivi che vi spieghero' in futuro.....

Sofia 5

She is 5 on the 5th.  We took her out for breakfast now that she goes to school she has less time to be around.  We took her to a popular breakfast place close by.  For lunch she wanted pasta with pesto, for dinner she wanted waffles and I made her a mermaid cake.  We went to the store to pick up some presents and of course she went for the mermaid and some painting craft stuff.  She was so happy and so was I.  I going through CNA training so the goal was to celebrate her before class.  Mission accomplished.

 Ha fatto 5 anni il 5 Settembre.  La mattina l'abbiamo portata a fare colazione in un posto qui vicino, per pranzo ha voluto la pasta con pesto e per cena i waffles.  Il dolce doveva essere una sirenetta ma siccome io il dolce cosi' non lo so fare abbiamo rimediato con le onde del mare e le code delle sirene sul dolce.  Ovviamente ho colorato la panna di color celeste per fare effetto mare.  L'ho scampata cosi'.  Prima di portarla a scuola l'ho partata anche a scegliere dei giocattoli e come vedere ha scelto una sirenetta e dei cavalli da pitturare.  Durante il mese di settembre sto' facendo un corso da assistente infermiera quindi abbiamo dovuto festeggiare tutto prima che io andassi a farmi 4 ore in classe.  L'importante e' che Sofia abbia passato un giorno.

1st day of Preschool - Primo girno di scuola

First day of school for Sofia!!!  She started a week after the other kids.  Sad and happy moment for me.  I have a whole hour to myself before I have to pick up Emma from high school and then everyone else every 30 minutes after that.

Sofia is so happy to be in school.

Primo giorno di scuola per Sofia!!! Lei ha cominciato una settimana dopo i bambini, un momento triste e felice allo stesso tempo.  Ho un ora tutta per me prima che devo andare a prendere Emma alla scuola superiore.  Sofia e' contentissima di andare a scuola.

Labor Day

Labor Day ....we spent it in Logan, we ate at a park, went to the zoo, went on a walk by the river, drove by the temple and ate at our favorite Mexican restaurant.  It was a fun day spent with the kids and Zoey.  Logan is really cute, it reminds me of Rexburg.  I almosto forgot but we took the kids swimming at a lake around here that really sucked.  Never going back to that lake.  It was Hyrum Lake, I better write this down so we never go there.  

Oggi e' Labor Day, un giorno di festa per tutti.  Lo abbiamo passato a Logan a un oretta di macchina da casa nostra.  Abbiamo pranzato ad un parco, siamo andati allo zoo, abbiamo passeggiato vicino al fiume e poi abbiamo portato i bambini ad un cesso di lago che si chiama Hyrum Lake.  Non lo sapevamo che era un cesso altrimenti non ci saremmo andati.  Dico cesso perche' la sabbia non era sabbia ma mota, e l'acqua non era chiara, insomma una schifezza, fra l'altro puzzava pure.  Insomma un'esperienza che non faremo piu'.  Nonostante il lago ci siamo divertiti lo stesso a passare una giornata insieme a Logan, ci siamo fermati pure davanti al tempio.  Proprio una cittadina carina, mi ricorda di Rexburg.
