Gaia

Gaia came to visit us for a few days with her girls,  they didn't stay long enough but we made the best of the time we had together.

Gaia e le bambine sono venute a trovarci per un paio di giorni, abbiamo sfruttato il tempo poco che abbiamo avuto insieme.

This is what happens when they turn 16...they get a job....which is good.  I had a hard time sending her to work for 10 hours so she could train, for 4 days straight!!!  That was hard not having her home all day,  but it's part of the process.

Dance Festival

Rexburg also has it's own dance festival.  Every year they host dance team from all over the world and do a week of events for the community, some are free, some are not.  This year we had dancers from:  Russia, Puerto Rico, Canada, India, and a local US team.

Ogni anno a luglio Rexburg ha un festival della danza, ospitano per una settimana diverse squadre internazionali di ballo, e per una settimana fanno degli shows per la comunita', alcuni gratis, altri no.  Quest'anno abbiamo avuto squadre dalla Russia, Canada, India, Puerto Rico ed una squadra locale statunitense.

Pack Saddle Lake

Pack Saddle lake is one of the hidden beautie around here.  I say hidden because if you don't know where you are going you are not going to find it.  It it is the middle of nowhere and when you park your car you need to hike down for about 10 minutes before you get there.  It is stunning.  The water is cold but its' worth getting in with the rope swing.  The kids loved it even if it was an advanture getting there,  we were definatly not prepared to hike down.  Ismar ended up carrying Sofia on his back on the way down and on the way up.

 Pack Saddle Lake e' un posto letteralmente nascosto nel bosco.  Abbiamo dovuto guidare per un bel po nella natura, parcheggiato la macchina in cima della montagna e poi abbiamo fatto un escursione di 10 minuti circa per arrivare al lago.  Ne e' davvero valsa la pena appena abbiamo visto questo paradiso nascosto. L'acqua era gelida ma noi ci siamo buttati dentro con lanciandoci con la corda.
Noi siamo arrivati in cima della montagna molto impreparati infatti Ismar ha dovuto portare Sofia sulle spalle sia quando siamo andati giu' che quando siamo tornati in su'.  E' stata davvero un'avventura ma ai bambini e' piaciuto molto.

4th of July Parade - Parata del 4 luglio

 I love that Rexburg has it's own parade every year for the 4th of July.  It is packed and the floats are pretty cool.  We showed up an hour after it started but it was plenty of time spent there and the kids still got plenty of candy and coupons.  It was a nice day we took the kids swimming to a near by river for the day and then went to a friend's house for dessert.


Tutti gli anni per il 4 luglio Rexburg ha una parata in centro che dura un paio di ore.  Noi siamo arrivati un ora in ritardo ma quell'ora che siamo stati li' ci e' bastata.  E' usanza che durante le parate le persone nella parata buttano caramelle ai bambini, in un'ora ci siamo riempite le tasche.  Durante il pomeriggio abbiamo portato i bambini ad un fiume qui vicino e di sera dopo cena siamo andati a mangiare dei rinfreschi a casa di amici.

Emma 14

Emma is 14! She wanted some swim suits for her birthday and I decided to also buy her a TMNT shirt.  She requested sushi for dinner and the tres leches cake, we celebrated with her friend Taya.

Emma ha compiuto 14 anni.  Ha ricevuto dei costumi, sandali ed una maglietta delle tartarughe ninja.  Per cena abbiamo festeggiato con sushi fatto in casa ed e' stata con la sua amica Taya.  

Italia 16

16... the dreaded 16 for me and Ismar, this is when she will start going on dates, dances, working, driving and so forth.  We are not looking forward to this but we know change is good in the end.
She spent her birthday doing with Calvin and another friend and then came home for home made sushi and tiramisu'.

La vita di una 16enne negli stati uniti ha molti cambiamenti, puo' lavorare, guidare, andare ai balli della scuola superiore e poi andare fuori con i ragazzi.  Sono molti cambiamenti nella vita di Italia ed anche la nostra.  I cambiamenti ci fanno crescere, nonostante non ci piacciano (a me ed Ismar).
Italia ha passato la giornata con i suoi due amici a casa di Calvin, poi a cena e' tornata a casa per mangiare il sushi fatto in casa e soffiare le candeline sul tiramisu'.

Ismar 41

It's 41 for Ismar!  Torta della nonna is what he requested so I made him happy.  We had dinner at one of the only decent restaurants in town.  Even if we are here alone we can still party.

Ismar il 41enne ha richiesto la torta della nonna come dolce, siamo stati a cena a uno degli unici ristoranti decenti di Rexburg.  Festeggiamo anche se siamo soli qui.  

Father's day - Festa del papa'

Ismar is a great father to his children.  We all love him.

We spent the day at Badger Creek for the BYUI employee family day.  I didn't take many pictures but we did some soccer playing, face painting, kayaking, and ziplined.

Abbiamo passato il pomeriggio ad un'attivita' per le famiglie degli impiegati di BYUI.  I bambini hanno giocato a calcio, si sono fatti disegnare in faccia, un giro in kayak, e per finire sullo zipline.

Monkey Rock is close to our house.  We went to spend the afternoon with friends, it's part of a river.  Beautiful but cold.

Questo posto si chiama Monkey Rock, si trova a 15 minuti di macchina da casa mia.  Molto bello, ma con l'acqua gelida.

Boise, Idaho.  We spent the weekend there to attend Katie's baby blessing.  We spent the night at the Hampton in, very nice place.
Weekend passato in Boise, per andare alla benedizione della bambina di Katie.  Siamo stati all'Hampton Inn, davvero un bel posto.

Katie is a long time friend of Ismar from England,  We had no idea she ended up marrying someone from Idaho, moving here and having a baby.  So nice to see her happy with her new family.  She is a love of animals and has many in her little farm.

Katie e' una ragazza inglese amica di Ismar da molti anni.  Purtroppo con il tempo si sono persi di vista, fino a che un mesetto fa circa ha scoperto che si e' non solo sposata con un americano, ma un vive anche lei in Idaho.  Lei e' un'amante appassionata di animali, infatti ne hanno di tutti i tipi nella loro fattoria.
