Visitors - Parenti

In February we took a trip down to Provo to pick up Ismar's mom.  She spent some time with Denisse an then she came up to spend a week with us.  On the way down we went to see the Provo temple open house.  It was stunning, I can't believe it burned down and they rebuilt it to be even more beautiful. On Thursday Ismar's father flew up and spent a couple of days with us.  That week we also had the pleasure to see Gabie, who lives only a few hours away from us, and Denisse.  We had to make pupusas to enjoy with family like old times.  It was nice to see family since we don't get to go down to AZ as often.

A febbraio siamo scesi nello Utah ad andare a prendere la mamma di Ismar che era stata li' a trovare la figlia Denisse.  Dopo di che e' venuta a stare con noi per una settimana.  Mentre eravamo li' ci siamo fermati a fare il tour del tempio di Provo che non era stato ancora dedicato.  Una cosa spettacolare, stupendo.  E pensare che e' stato ricostruito dal nulla dopo esser stato bruciato.  Giovedi' mattina ci ha raggiunto anche il babbo di Ismar per stare con noi un paio di giorni.  Durante quel weekend abbiamo avuto anche il piacere di vedere mia nipote Gabriela e mia cognata Denisse.  Avendo tutti questi salvadoregni in casa abbiamo dovuto fare le pupusas (cibo tipico salvadoregno).  E' stato bello essere riuniti con i familiari come facevamo spesso in Arizona.

2015 Thoughts-Pensieri 2015

Another year has come and gone.  The year 2015 was very good to us.  We have been working on our house, we were able to do a lot of painting, flooring, and rearranging.  We still have a lot to do but we are happy to make our house our own. We went to Mexico on vacation and were able to go to AZ twice this year.  Italia has made some new friends,  Emma started playing the guitar,  Stefano and Luca love their legos, Sofia has fallen in love with Peppa pig and any pig in general,  Ismar was able to see my family in Italy in March, and I started taking piano lessons. We have big plans for this coming year.  The house is still on the list, the biggest project will be the kitchen, and of course more painting.  My hopes for 2016 is to spend more time with the family, go back to school, camp more, be more relaxed, be grateful, get organized and get rid of things I don't need or use.

E' passato un altro anno, il 2015 e' stato un buon anno per la nostra famiglia.  Abbiamo cercato di rinnovare casa il piu' possibile, rimbiancando, cambiando i pavimenti e spostando i mobili.  Abbiamo ancora molto da fare ma ci stiamo divertendo a far diventare questa casa nostra. Nel 2015 abbiamo avuto l'opportunita' di andare al mare in Messico e di tornare in Arizona due volte. Italia ha fatto nuove amicizie,  Emma ha cominciato a suonare la chitarra,  Stefano e Luca hanno allargato la collezione  di Lego, Sofia ha scoperto Peppa pig ed adora i maiali in generale.  Ismar e' stato in Italia a marzo ed ha visitato la famiglia in Toscana.  Quest'anno nuovo continueremo a rinnovare casa, la cucina sara' la parte piu' impegnativa, ovviamente rimbiancheremo  il resto delle stanze.  Spero che nel 2016 posso stare piu' con la famiglia, tornare a scuola, sfruttare piu' la roulotte, essere piu' rilassata, piu' grata, piu' organizzata e buttare via cose di cui non ho bisogno o uso. 

New tradition-Tradizione nuova

We have adopted a new tradition for our family.  On new years eve we pick an item we want to get rid of and throw it out the front door, symbolizing a fresh start by getting rid of the old, and welcoming the new.  Me, Ismar, Italia, were the only one with something picked out, the other kids couldn't thing of anything to throw out.

La nuova tradizione di casa Vallecillos e' buttare qualcosa di non desiderato fuori dalla porta di casa.  Gli oggetti vengono scelti la vigilia  dell'anno nuovo e poi vengono gettati dopo la mezza notte per simbolizzare un nuovo inizio buttando via oggetti vecchi.   Io, Ismar, ed Italia siamo stati gli unici a trovare degli oggetti, forse il prossimo anno avranno qualcosa anche gli altri.

Items:  Italia's black and purple shirt, my brown dress and can opener, Ismar threw out the blu ray DVD player.

Oggetti:  due magliette di Italia, vestito marrone mio, l'apri scatola mio, ed infine Ismar ha lanciato il blu ray lettore DVD nella neve.

Christmas 2015-Natale2015

Let me start by saying that lately I have not done a good job at taking pictures of events, and that's why there is very few.  These were taken by Ismar with my  phone.  Christmas morning was a success, everyone loved what they got. Italia wanted stuff for her room, pictures will come soon to see the change.  Emma, like I have previously mentioned loves TMNT so there you go with her pajamas and her new love for the guitar.  Legos and some games for the boys, and for Sofia a Peppa house and a couple of other things.  I got some warm boots for the house very much needed at this time and Ismar some pajama pants, very much needed also.

Our day alone was lovely, we took a nap, while the kids played, and then we had a nice Italian meal.  I really wish I had taken more pictures!  Oh well, I will try to do better.

Scusatemi ma ultimamente le foto sono scarse perche' mi dimentico di farle.  La mattina di Natale e' stata bella perche' i bambini sono stati contenti con tutti i loro regali.  Italia ha voluto cose per decorare la sua stanza (poi mettero' delle foto), Emma cose per la sua chitarra e un pigiama delle tartarughe ninja. Stefano e Luca, come al solito Lego e giochi per il PS2, Sofia invece una bella casa di Peppa la scrofa...scusate volevo dire pig.  Io invece ho ricevuto delle ciabatte a stivale, molto apprezzate di questo periodo, ed Ismar i pantaloni del pigiama, anche quelli molto apprezzati.

Il nostro giorno di Natale soli e' stato bello, abbiamo fatto un pisolino (stati svegli fino all'una per impacchettare tutta sta' roba), mentre i bambini erano occupati con i loro regali.  Abbiamo cenato stile Italiano.  La vigilia l'abbiamo fatta stile Salvadoregno.  Peccato non ho fatto foto al cibo.

Moment in history - Momento storico

Moment in history because we bought our first TV ever in 17 years of marriage.  Thanks to Black Friday we were able to find a great deal. We have been so excited to see movies in HD but have been disappointed to see age spots and wrinkles on the movies stars.  It will take a while to get used to.

Questo e' un momento storico perche' non abbiamo mai comprato una televisione da quando ci siamo sposati.  E' bello vedere i film in HD ma anche un po' delusa nel vedere le rughe ed i pori della pelle degli attori.  Il venerdi dopo il giorno del ringraziamento ci sono sempre sconti su tutto e quest'anno siamo stati fortunati.

Thanksgiving 2015

Luca got glasses the day before Thanksgiving.  I was sad to hear but he still looks cute....so I am ok with it.

Luca deve portare gli occhiali e per fortuna li ha ricevuti il giorno prima di andare a Boise per il giorno del ringraziamento.  All'inizio ero triste che dovesse portarli ma poi ho visto che lui era felice e non sta' male, quindi va bene.

Thanksgiving at the Craner's in Boise.  So nice for them to have us, we feel like they are our family after all.  I love Erin and I love them.  It was nice to spend time with them and enjoy another authentic Thanksgiving with a home grown turkey raised by the Jarvis and our very first ham from our pig.  Before we left we had a gingerbread train decorating contest, boys against girls and it's sad to say that the boys won thanks to Ismar's skills for detail.

Il giorno del ringraziamento lo abbiamo festeggiato con la famiglia di mia cognata, i Craners.  Loro vivono a 4 ore di distanza.  E' stato bello passare il tempo con loro ed avere un pasto originale come fanno qui con tacchino cresciuto dalla famiglia Jarvis e il prosciutto cresciuto da noi.  Prima della partenza ci siamo divisi in gruppi, maschi contro femmine ed abbiamo decorato questi treni.  Sfortunatamente hanno vinto i maschi grazie alla mano d'opera di Ismar.

Taekwondo

We tried Taekwondo and today they broke their first board.  Luca broke 2.

TMNT Birthday Party

We have a new found love for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the house so we had a party for the boys with that theme.  Emma was in charge of planning it and helping.  Stefano turned 10 and Luca 7.  Most everyone came and had a great time.  I don't do big parties anymore, but because last year we were in the process of packing I owed the boys a party this year. My favorite part were the masks.

Per il compleanno di Stefano e Luca abbiamo fatto la festa con il tema delle tartarughe ninja.  Dato che Emma e' innamorata delle tartarughe e del film che e' uscito, lei ha aiutato a pianificare la festa dei bambini.  Luca ha fatto 7 anni e Stefano 10.  Negli ultimi anni ho smesso di fare le grandi feste di compleanno, ma quest'anno ho deciso di farla per i maschietti perche' l'anno scorso di questo periodo stavo impacchettando per prepararmi al trasloco.  Le maschere sono venute benissimo.

17 years toghether - 17anni insieme

I can't believe it's been 17 years.  I don't feel like it's been that long or like I am getting older, I am sure the signs are there but I still feel like we are young.  The last few years we have celebrated with sushi and since there is a new place in town we went to check it out for lunch.  It was pretty good.  Sofia was very well behaved...as usual, as so was Ismar....j/k.  I love spending time with him out, or at home seating around.  I am so lucky to have found him.

Sono gia' passati 17 anni insieme.  Il tempo contiuna a volare ed per questo non mi sento vecchia, anche se sicuramente ho qualche rughetta in piu'.  Finalmente hanno aperto un ristorante di sushi in citta' quindi siamo andati a festeggiare li', anche perhe' negli ultimi anni e' diventata norma.  Sofia e' stato un angelo, come lo e' stato Ismar...hahaha.  Sono stata fortunata di averlo incontrato e sposato.
