Departure - Partenza

Sunday, I came on a Sunday and I am leaving on a Sunday.  What and emotional roller coaster this trip has been.  Very exhausting, always going trying to make the most out of the time I had.  I am happy because I got to see everyone and sad because I didn't spend enough time to really find out what happened in 6 years.  I was able to spend a lot of time with my cousin Anna, and time with my brother especially on my birthday.  Something I will remember always.  The memories are everything.   I hope I get to  come back soon and spend more time with my beautiful family.  I love this place, part of me will always be here.  Today is mother's day, I get to spend it traveling back to my husband and kids.

Domenica, arrivata di domenica e ripartita di domenica.  Quante emozioni ho provato durante questo viaggio, molta felicita', molta tristezza.  E' stato un viaggio stancante e sempre un po' in movimento per cercare di stare un po' con tutti.  Con certe persone avrei tanto voluto approfondire e saperne di piu' dei loro 6 anni passati.  Sono stata molto con mia cugina Anna, come ai vecchi tempi, e con mio fratello per il mio compleanno.  Ricordi che portero' con me sempre.  Spero di poter tornare presto e di star piu' tempo con la mia bellissima famiglia.  Amo questo posto, parte di me stara' sempre qui.  Oggi e' la festa della mamma ed io sono in viaggio per tornare da mio marito e dai miei bambini.

Day 14 - Giorno 14

Saturday, Anna drove us to Vietri and we had a lovely breakfast by the beach.  What a stunning place. Since I finally bought a lot of stuff for everyone I decided I needed to at least get myself at least a pair of good Italian shoes.    I love shoes store here because as soon as you walk in you can smell the real leather.  I spent lunch with uncle Alfonso and his family.  He is in transition of moving store now, I was bummed I didn't get to see it the new store.  I got to see my cousin Lorenzo also and meet Antonella's sister and her family.  We watched a soccer game after lunch, the streets were deserted since it was the hometown team playing.  In the afternoon we went down by the sea and downtown, a long stroll, got some gelato.  I got a brioche with gelato, something typical of Salerno. We took a lot of pictures.  On the way back Luigi contacted me letting me know he was coming down to Salerno.  I met him in front of the train station we were only able to spend and hour and a half together before I had to be dropped off.  I wanted to hear about his life but I didn't have enough time...I wish I had one more day!  For dinner I had some pizza, arancini e crochet.  My aunt made a delicious cake for tonight, she was supposed to make it tomorrow (mother's day) but I know she made it for me.  The whole Enzo family gathered.  I can't believe I have to leave already...


Sabato, io ed Anna siamo andate a fare colazione a Vietri sul mare.  Che bel posto e che delizia di colazione.  Dato che ho comprato molte cose per tutti e non per me, ho deciso di comprarmi delle scarpe italiane.  I negozi di scarpe qui hanno un buon profumo di pelle.  A pranzo sono stata con la famiglia di mio zio Alfonso. Ho visto anche mio cugino Lorenzo ed ho conosciuto la famiglia della sorella di Antonella.  Abbiamo visto la partita di calcio della Salernitana, le strade erano deserte.  Nel pomeriggio siamo andate, io, zia Antonietta, zia Antonella, Anna e Valerio a fare una lunga passeggiata al lungo mare, poi abbiamo preso un gelato, io la brioche con il gelato.  Mentre stavamo tornando in dietro mi e' venuto a prendere Luigi con Alex.  Purtroppo siamo stati insieme solo un oretta al bar e poi mi ha portato a casa. Avrei voluto tanto saper piu' di tutto quello che e' successo nella sua vita in questi ultimi anni.  Se potessi stare un giorno in piu'...  A cena sono stata dalla famiglia di zio Enzo, si sono riuniti tutti per pizza, arancini e crochet.  Zia Antonietta ha fatto un dolce oggi che avrebbe dovuto fare domani per la festa della mamma.  Era buonissimo ed apprezzo il gesto.  Domani in partenza, non ci posso credere...

Day 13 - Giorno 13

Day 12 -Giorno 12

Thursday, before we hit the mother load of all open markets we met my cousin Fabio on the street, so nice to see him.  After the mother load of all open markets I had lunch jumped on a bus and headed to Avellino to see my uncle Franco and his family. The bus ride was beautiful, I loved seeing all the little towns  in between I had forgotten how green this place really is.  My cousin Luigi came to pick me up at the bus station and took me to their store to see the rest of the family.  They own a family business and the children all work there.  It was nice being in theirs store... I had never been. It was also nice seeing them work and deal with clients. I saw my cousin Marianna's kids. For dinner we got some pizzas and went to my cousin Marianna's house to eat dinner together.  I was made a special pizza by the pizza maker, I told him to surprise me, so he made me a calzone/pizza.  I was touched.  After dinner Luigi took me to see his brother Antonio.  I had never met his girls, I was able to spend a little time with them and see their daughters.  I knew this trip would be fast but this has been hard to know you will only see some loved ones for a few hours.  I decided to spend the night at Marianna's house.  I was able to interact with her children.  They are so sweet and I feel their love for me even if they have only known me for a while. I slept in the same room with Daniela.

  

Giovedi' prima di andare al mercato.....un mercato gigantesco abbiamo trovato Fabio, mio cugino, per strada.  Che bella sorpresa averlo visto. Dopo il mercato ed il pranzo sono andata a prendere l'autobus per Avellino.  Che bello e' stato il tragitto in autobus, soprattutto il paesaggio, questo posto e' verdissimo.  Alla fermata e' venuto a prendermi Luigi che mi ha portato al negozio a trovare lo zio ed il resto della famiglia.  La famiglia di zio Franco lavorano tutti insieme quindi sono tutti al negozio.  Bel negozio, non ero mai stata, e bello anche vederli li che lavorano e come lavorano.  Ho rivisto anche i bambini di Marianna (Davide e Daniela),  molto carini e bravi.  Nonostante non mi conoscono molto bene sento il loro amore per me, questa cosa mi ha lasciato un bel ricordo nel sapere che la lontananza non slega il legame familiare.  A cena hanno ordinato le pizze ed il pizzaiolo mi ha fatto un pizza a sorpresa, mezzo calzone, mezza pizza. Era buonissima.  Dopo cena siamo stati a trovare mio cugino Antonio e la sua famiglia, prima volta per me di aver conosciuto le sue figlie.  Mi accontento di averli visti, ma ho tanta tristezza per essermi persa tanto della loro vita. Ho dormito a casa di Marianna nella stanzina di Daniela.  Che bello vedere anche un po' i loro ritmi.  Ho visto anche casa nuova di Luigi, un bel posto arredato anche con buon gusto.
