Day 12 -Giorno 12
Thursday, before we hit the mother load of all open markets we met my cousin Fabio on the street, so nice to see him. After the mother load of all open markets I had lunch jumped on a bus and headed to Avellino to see my uncle Franco and his family. The bus ride was beautiful, I loved seeing all the little towns in between I had forgotten how green this place really is. My cousin Luigi came to pick me up at the bus station and took me to their store to see the rest of the family. They own a family business and the children all work there. It was nice being in theirs store... I had never been. It was also nice seeing them work and deal with clients. I saw my cousin Marianna's kids. For dinner we got some pizzas and went to my cousin Marianna's house to eat dinner together. I was made a special pizza by the pizza maker, I told him to surprise me, so he made me a calzone/pizza. I was touched. After dinner Luigi took me to see his brother Antonio. I had never met his girls, I was able to spend a little time with them and see their daughters. I knew this trip would be fast but this has been hard to know you will only see some loved ones for a few hours. I decided to spend the night at Marianna's house. I was able to interact with her children. They are so sweet and I feel their love for me even if they have only known me for a while. I slept in the same room with Daniela.

Day 10- Giorno 10
Tuesday was a cold, cloudy day. Me and Anna hit the open Market in search for shoes for Ismar and things for the kids. I was proud to have bought 3 fennels for 1 euro!!! In the US it would have costed me 3 to 4 dollars per fennel. Had lunch with some fresh mozzarella at aunt Antonietta's house. In the afternoon I visited cousin Renato and his companion, I got to meet his son Vincenzo for the first time. For dinner we went to see Carlo, my uncle and his family. We had some good pizza, my favorite was the one with potatoes and mushrooms.

Day 9 - Giorno 9
Monday I left early morning from Florence and made it to Salerno around 12. I am excited to be here, this is where my family would spend their summers visiting family and cousins, and going to the beach. This is the place to eat good fish. I was picked up by my aunt Antonietta and cousin Roberto. I was excited to eat spaghetti alla chitarra for lunch, with fresh clams!!!
I have been having a hard time with my sleep. I am exausted, so after lunch I took a nap. I can't seem to recuperate my sleep. To many late nights staying up with family or friends and then getting on Whattsapp to speak to Ismar. My cousin Anna came back from a trip and I went to spend the night at her house.

Day 8 - Giorno 8
Sunday, the day of rest.... I went to church to my old branch in Prato. Got to see some families I grew up with. I didn't have time to take a picture of everyone, I didn't have time to speak to everyone but I am glad I got to see them ever for a little bit. Sonia and Samantha came to visit me for maybe an hour and that meant a lot. Today was spent with Daniele, Paola and Linda. My last day here, I will leave tomorrow for the south...so hard to leave this place where I grew up. I love my people and this land.

Day 7 - Giorno 7
Saturday we left for Parma to go visit my uncle Marco who I had not seen in 10 years!!! Very excited to see him and my cousins. Daniele drove us there. We had a wonderful lunch with homemade pasta made from Franca and many more things. We sat, ate and talked for 4 hours. I really miss them, so many things have happened, weddings, graduations, all missed. I was sad to say goodbye so soon. I hope to spend more time with them next time. My uncle Marco reminds me so much of my grandmother, he is a good man with a good heart, just like my grandmother was, and his new family is great. After we drove back to Quarrata we went and ate at Linda's favorite restaurant "Il Faro". Every bite was incredible, too bad I was still full from lunch.
Without even trying we did the same thing with out mouth....we were both eating...or maybe it's just genetics
